Archive for February, 2009

We got an email yesterday letting us know that the US office of Immigration Services approved our I800A application. What in the world does this mean? Well, it is our last approval we needed to be able to send in our dossier. We were expecting for this approval to take about 60 days, but it only took about 30 days! This has been the only thing that has happened faster than we thought! Now we are putting the pedal to the metal to get all of our dossier ready and authenticated to send to the Chinese government. The dossier is not too hard to get together, but getting it all authenticated is a bit hairy. All of the documents have to be notarized, authenticated by the county clerk where each of the documents originated, authenticated by the state, the federal government, and by the Chinese consulate! YIKES! UPS overnighting here we come! Hopefully we will get all of this done soon! I thought we would have it all done by the end of the year, but the name of the game is FLEXIBILITY and PATIENCE! So, we are just going to work hard to get it in ASAP! Once our dossier is logged in to the Chinese government our 3-5 year wait starts to get our sweet Mae! Thanks SO MUCH for all your prayer and support!!! We love you guys!

Happy Birthday Jax!!

On February 22, 2006 we woke up to a HUGE surprise! My water had broken. Our little Jax was not due until March 27th, but he was ready!
So, on Thursday, February 23rd at 5:16 a.m. our little Jax entered the world weighing in at 5 lbs! My how fast time goes! In the last 3 years we have seen our son grow from a tiny baby wrapped up so tight it is a miracle he could breath to a young boy who can go peepee all by himself, make his own pb&j sandwich, retell Bible stories and Bible verses, say the pledge, make up some killer songs off the cuff, sort of write his name, draw a smiley face, hop on one foot and run like a superhero…just to name a few…haha! When Justin is leaving he always has a little talk with Jaxon and one of the things he always tells him is to take care of mommy while he is gone. It is so sweet to see the little ways he is learning how to do that…he sees the sweet ways that daddy takes care of mommy and he is learning! He is such a fun dude! I feel so blessed and honored to spend my days with him!! The world is definitely a better place with Jaxon Davis Cofield in it!!

First we had a family party at our house. It was a GREAT time to get to hang out and relax with everyone. We ate lunch, Jax got to open some presents and have fun playing with them and we got to watch some old videos of Jaxon. It was a special time!

Now for some crazy fun! Jaxon got to have his party at Ready, Set, Play, which is a huge jumping house place. It is a FUN place to have a party. We couldn’t keep up with Jaxon. He was sprinting from one thing to the next! It was so great to see him have fun with all his friends!

We were all so tired after this marathon of fun…we all went home and crashed. Justin and Hoss woke up at 4:30 the next morning to get Justin to his marathon by 5:30. The race started at 7:00 in the a.m. Here are a few pics.

I finished a changed woman!

Jaxon and Justin at the Waco Zoo

Jaxon and Justin at the Waco Zoo

I started the 10-day prayer challenge for Jaxon on January 20th…here it is February 11 and I just finished it. When I started it, I didn’t really have many expectations other than getting to pray for Jax. Well, boy howdy…was I in for a treat. I not only got to spend good, quality, relaxed time praying for my son…this amazing blessing I get to experience on a daily basis. But I also learned much about me and my heart for my son and our daughter we will have to love and nurture one day. God spoke to me in ways that helped me see my role as a wife and mom with freshness and excitement. Our King has a plan and a purpose for our little Jax and Mae…one that is full of adventure and purpose. A life that will be more than their eyes can see, their ears can hear and their mind can conceive! He is letting me and Justin be the ones that get to daily disciple and teach them about the love & power of their Dad, the nearness of His Spirit, and the love & example of Jesus! What a privilege and calling for us…one that is more than we could have ever asked our imagined! Not too long ago, my father-in-law asked me to pray about what my best work was. God made it clear and has definitely confirmed it with this prayer challenge that experiencing God’s love on a daily basis…getting filled to overflowing with His love and presence and loving my man and Jax…and one day our Mae…with that love…THAT is my best work! It has helped me quickly eliminate things that don’t help me in this work…or distract me from it. My, how easily it can happen! So, THANKS Hillarie for sharing your heart and leading me in praying for Jax & Mae…who knows how God will use these verses I have prayed for them. I can’t wait to watch it all unfold! Lord, give us the courage and selfless love to encourage and pray for Jaxon and Mae to be your sweet aroma of the knowledge of You in every place! (2 cor. 2:14)
